• Articles must not contain any links or verbiage related to illegal activities, drugs, adult-themed content (unless approved), or any other topic that may not be suitable for a general news site. If any link is found to be in violation, it will be removed from the site, and there will be no refunds.
• The content must be detailed and unique.
• Posts must not contain any spelling or grammar errors.
• The Southern Maryland Chronicle becomes the owner of the content, and it cannot be used anywhere else without permission.
• A byline for the author is available upon request.

In addition, we have specific article requirements that must be met:

• One (1) do-follow link, up to two (2) no-follow links provided.
• Two to three (2-3) images (.png only), images must be 1200 px x 675 px, and images must be sent separately as attachments. Do not include them in the article. One image will be used as the cover photo. Images must include photo credit, and they must be able to be used without The Southern Maryland Chronicle paying. Any paid photographs must have a receipt with them (Adobe, iStock, etc.). Articles with no images or incorrectly sent images will be sent back.
• A feature image that is 1200 px x 675 px, .png.
• A “News-Style” headline.
• All information must be factual.
• All guest posts will be located in the “PARTNER CONTENT” section to comply with US Federal regulations regarding paid content.
