What Is a Dofollow Link?
A “dofollow” link is simply a normal hyperlink that carries no nofollow, sponsored or UGC relationship attribute. It is the default state of any link on the web.
Why it matters
Links without those attributes are the ones search engines may follow and count as an ordinary endorsement, so they are what most link building campaigns are trying to earn. It is also the attribute state buyers most often ask publishers about before ordering a placement.
Example
A plain link to example.com is commonly called a dofollow link. If that same link is marked nofollow, it is not.
Common misconception
That rel="dofollow" is a real HTML attribute you can add. It is not — it exists only as SEO shorthand for the absence of the other attributes. Writing rel="dofollow" into your markup does nothing at all.
