Watchdog 2 is a fun and interactive open-world action game. The game builds on what worked well in the first game (hacking, stealth system) and removes all the things that were annoying in the first entry (being forced to climb towers to advance the story, grumpy protagonist, clumsy steering). Watchdog 2 has great optimization, stunning visuals, a super-large world with endless possibilities, and non-stop hacking fun.
As a proof-of-concept cyberdrama based on Assassin's Creed with full hacking capabilities, the original setup of Watch Dogs really worked. The main complaint from players was that the main character, Aiden Pearce, was a slow and clumsy guy that users never liked. Directly responsible for the death of his niece and the coma of his sister, Aiden decided to take revenge. Many people have a problem with this. Watchdogs 2 introduces a new protagonist; Marcus Holloway. All of the hacks from the previous game have returned, along with new, more in-depth hacks called “contextual hacks”. When the player activates the NetHack View, instead of the previous on-screen viewport, the entire screen transforms into a hacking view outlining civilians, automobiles, and any hacking opportunities.
In Watchdog 2, you are now part of DedSec, and the game introduces a cooperative system in which the player can complete side missions and explore the world with another player. New vehicles have been introduced, such as scooters and ATVs. The player has an RC Jumper and a Quadcopter that he can deploy at any time, through which he can hack the aforementioned objects. Aiden Pearce, also known as The Vigilante and The Fox, is the main protagonist of Watch Dogs, a minor character in Watchdog 2, a playable character in Watch Dogs: Legion, and one of the two main protagonists (along with Wrench) of the Bloodline DLC. He is the overall main protagonist of the Watch Dogs series, as he has appeared in all three games.
Holloway, known by the nickname Retr0, is the main protagonist of Watchdog 2. Marcus was born in Los Angeles, California in 1992, but moved to Oakland at a young age with his low-income family. Marcus was placed in a community program where he discovered an affinity for computers.
Sitara Dhawan is the protagonist of Watch Dogs 2. She has made the most of the education system. Sitara has studied marketing, psychology, PR, and pretty much anything related to art, but most of her hacking skills are self-taught. She thought that moving away from the superficial culture of LA to downtown SF would be a healthy change, but found empty celebrity replaced by soulless tech giants.
Dušan Nemec (pronounced doo•SHAN，/du:ʃan/) is the main antagonist of Watchdog 2. A business leader, Dušan was the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Blume Corporation. Dušan Nemec was born in Yugoslavia in the 1990s and moved to America at a young age. He grew up on the internet, loving the experience and preferring chat on chat forums to real-life interaction. He preferred learning to code to sports, and his heroes were not sports or athletes, but programmers in Silicon Valley. His technology made him the newest young billionaire in town, while his charm, skill, and transformation made him the CTO of Blume. He prefers data to weakness.
